Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for optimizing and coordinating the flow of goods, materials, and information within the supply chain network. This role ensures the availability of goods, minimizes inventory holding costs, and maintains efficient transportation and distribution operations. The Supply Chain Planner collaborates with various stakeholders to analyze demand, plan procurement, monitor inventory levels, and implement strategies to improve supply chain performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze demand patterns, sales forecasts, and market trends to develop accurate supply plans.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine and prioritize customer requirements and ensure alignment with supply chain capabilities.
3. Monitor inventory levels, identify shortages or excesses, and propose appropriate measures to optimize stock levels.
4. Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of goods and materials, tracking shipment progress, and resolving any issues that may arise.
5. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts, and terms of agreement to optimize costs and ensure high-quality products.
6. Conduct regular analysis of supply chain performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing process enhancements.
7. Collaborate with logistics partners to optimize transportation routes, modes, and costs while maintaining high service levels.
8. Utilize supply chain management software and tools to accurately forecast demand, monitor inventory, and track shipment progress.
9. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines for supply chain processes and ensure adherence to industry best practices.
10. Stay updated with industry trends and developments, recommending and implementing innovative supply chain solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in supply chain planning, preferably within the transportation and logistics industry.
3. In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles, practices, and industry trends.
4. Proficient in using supply chain management software and tools, with strong capability in data analysis and interpretation.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively interpret and utilize data to make informed decisions.
6. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
8. Solid negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and logistics partners.
9. Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and a strong focus on quality.
